My son (17) walks into the kitchen and tells me now that school started he has no time to think about making his movie. I said it didn't make any difference because all summer long he didn't do anything then either.
He was feeling defeated in his past goals that he did not accomplish.
I started reading this post to him (we often share things we are reading).
He said that’s strange that this is what I was reading when he just brought up the stuff about the movie.
I then realized the coincidence of it all.

Sorry Michelle but I think the blog post is unfair on Fabienne in that it incites peope to read it because they expect to hear something bad about Fabienne Frederickson.
Maybe you should have called it something along the lines: Fabienne Frederickson turned me down but what a powerful lesson. Something that makes us want to read on without denigrating her.
Suppose I only read the first few paragraphs - the message I get is not to choose my clients wisely but what an impolite person Fabienne Frederickson is and I am sure that it totally not want you want us to think.
I do agree totally that you need ot choose clients wisely and have the courage to fire a client (a post I wrote on the same theme: http://snipurl.com/qdkm6)

My sister Laura A. commented on my sons diagnosis with lymphangioma aprox. a month ago or so. Things have been crazy for us with this unexpected condition, only now am I getting up the courage to get on the internet & try to find out more. I guess you could say, I'm afraid of what I might find & that my hopes will be dashed even more. I would love to get in contact with you and find out more about those treatment options that have been sucessful for your daughter. Please email me with any information you might have. Thanks

I couldn't agree more! Being on both ends of the spectrum (on one end, having a Marketing degree and having worked in the field & on the other end, being a consumer) being "encroached" upon is not only annoying but it also definitely DISCOURAGES a sale!!! Creating a loyal customer for life is MUCH more profitable than wasting money on encroachment tactics. Spend your money on creating loyal, lifelong customers! Focus on the relationship!

Michelle--
You really hooked me with this one!
First, by wondering who you were going to "name," then wondering how you were going to do it "nicely" since I know it's not your style to put down other people, then by revealing "failure" as your most hated but often most valuable "coach."
This is one of my favorite blog posts of yours and I will always remember the lesson from it!
Thanks for being one of my best coaches!

My nephew was just diagnosed (today actually) with lymphangioma behind his eye, he is 2 months old now but it has been visible since birth. The news came as a relief because we were concerned that his condition could have been lymphoma.

I am interested in what type of treatment your daughter received. the Dr.'s have told my sister that there wasn't really anything they could do because of the location...a possibility of shots when he gets older maybe. Please email me with any info you would like to share.

I'm about to start my first real job at the age of 28. I've had lots of jobs thus far in my life: part time work at a campus bookstore, teaching children's gymnastic lessons, summer camp counselor, and five years as a Navy Officer. However, this will be the first full-time job where I can be FIRED if I don't perform well. That is frightening!

I was actually on your website today to tell you that I really liked the newsetter you distributed today. Very useful and straight to the point. And, as always, your vigourous, upbeat writing is a pleasure to read.
